Minutes for May 4, 2000

The meeting was called to order at 4:04PM by President Mark Broker.

1. Announcements

        One canoe is done and is going to be tested on Friday.

2. Approval of Minutes from April 27

3. Treasurers Report

        No significant activity.

4. Committee Reports

        A.  Physics is Phar-Out

		No more shows.  Lucas is taking over from Mark next year. The 
		show needs a new name. 

 B. Colloquium

	Dr. Hamiltons colloquium on Non-Linear optics was very good.  It 
		lasted an hour and could have easily gone longer if it wasn't 
		the week before finals.

C. Trip Social

	The Spring Social was fun the cookout was done before it started 
		raining. Many new pictures.  Check out the web page.

	Canoe Trip planned for Friday.  Test out the new canoe. It looks good.
  		Meet in back of Otts at 2:30PM.

D. Bulletin Board

	Not much. Give Jessica new pictures.

 5. Homecoming

	Missed the mandatory meeting.

6. September Pizza Party

	Increase recruitment.  Get freshmen before the social fraternities and
		sororities get them.  Ideas: Work on welcome committees, have 
		a canoe trip the week before school start, also volleyball, 
		observing, and caving.

	Amy volunteered to set this up, Mark will help.

7. Other

	First meeting of the year is September 7th. The pizza party is 
		tentatively set on September 29th with a rain date of
		October 6th.

Amy moved to adjourn at 4:29 PM.  The motion was seconded by Geoff.
