Minutes of January 21, 1999 Meeting

The meeting was called to order by President Erin Rischette at 4:01PM.

1.  Announcements
 - T-shirts are still for sale at $10 a shirt.  See JJ Wilson.
 - Test Packet Sales: need to be started again.
 - Scholarship applications are on bulleting board.  Due February 15.
 - More REU opportunities are available.
 - Leadership Awards Nominations for Student Organization, Advisor, Student
	Leader due by March 10

2.  The Minutes of 12/3/98 were unavailable.

3.  Nothing from Treasurer/VP Mark Bertolasi.

4.  Committee Reports
	Sunrayce - Car can't be raced this summer officially.  Work continues.
	Physics is Phantastic
		Presentations comming up at Benton, Muscoda, and Cassville.
	Colloquim - Speakers needed.  Phil Sealy was among those suggested.
	Trip/Social - 
		UW-Madison Physics Presentaions and Tours, 2/20, leaving at 1PM
			sign up by February 4.
		Movie Night:  January 22, Day of Trinity, 7PM Otts 222
			      February 12, Dr. Strangelove...
		Fermi Lab Trip on January 30.  Leave at 7:15AM. Signup by 1/26.
		NTSO-SPS Bowling Tournament, 2/5 (see email for info)
		Chicago Museum of Science and Industry Trip, 2/27
	Bulletin Board - REUs going up, scholarships as well
	SPS Zone Meeting Spring 99 - To be held April 9-10
		Friday:  Dinner and speaker
		Saturday:  Activities, presentations, picnic on Driving Range, 
			caving and canoeing to follow
5.  Nominations for Zone Councilor and Associate Councilor-
	JJ Wilson for Councilor, Erin for a second term

6.  Sigma Pi Sigma - Physics Honor Society, Need 3 Semesters of college,
     	3 Semesters of Physics, Upper 1/3 of class and 3.0 out of 4.0.  March 4

7.  Other
	Several people have not received any periodicals from their additional
		membership through SPS.
	Eric Lockman talked about his co-op at Kimberly-Clark in Neenah.  He
		worked on PLCs and AutoCAD in their Adult Care (Depends) 
		Division.
	Aaron Wilson returned to talk about his co-op at Watlow Gordon.  He
		worked in R&D on temperature sensors and thermocouples.

Aaron Wilson motioned to adjourn the meeting.  Dave Minerath seconded the
motion.  By consent, the meeting was adjourned at 4:52PM.
