Two Engineering students from UW-Platteville visited our school to share some of the intriguing concepts of Physics with our third through eighth graders. Here are what some students had to say about this "hair-raising experience."
Emilie Casey - "I liked going up and holding the shoe shuffler machine and when they flung the aluminum in the air with the current. That was cool! Lucas smashed the cement block over Mark with the nails. That was Far Out Physics!" Christina Breuer - "I really enjoyed the presentation, "Physics Is Phar Out." I learned that copper and aluminum are not magnetic. I also learned that electrons try to get as far away from each other as possible. That's why Patty's hair stood up. I wouldn't mind seeing it again." Sam Adrian - "The best thing I liked about the physics program was the electric shock. I thought this program was very educational." Derek Lammers - "I did two science experiments about magnetism and static electricity. I learned more about them from these two guys. It was very exciting too." Mike Mezera - "I thought the show was interesting. It showed me what magnetic fields were and showed us about distributing weight equally. It also showed how magnets and static electricity works and why you get shocks when you have static." |
