Senior letters

Greetings fellow brothers,

The time has finally come to say good-bye to UW-Platteville. Fortunately, I will never have to say good-bye to Sigma Tau Gamma. Through my college career I have seen a plethora of great things. Over the last 5 years I have seen people improve the quality of their character. At Sig Tau, we transform insecurity into pride, vanity into humility, disarray into organization, and unfamiliarity into brotherhood. I have seen negligent boys transform into refined men. I have learned that a fraternity is only as great as the members within and the values they hold dear. It goes beyond the house that simply surrounds them. Sig Tau teaches young men how to go out in the world and achieve success while enjoying college life to the fullest. Sig Tau teaches each brother to “Strive to be happy.” I love to think back through my college career and study the memories. (Especially the memories I was able to retain the next morning.) Aside from the great fun I had at parties, banquets and bars, I will remember brotherhood events, pledging, intramural sports, homecoming, fishing, Packer games, air-soft wars, and much more. Now I have many more great memories to create. I will be marring the 2006 White Rose, Lindsey Hottenstein, on August 25, 2007 in Platteville. I have accepted a job offer from Hensel Phelps in Greeley CO. In May, I will be graduating with a B.C.M. major and a Spanish minor. Thank you all for the wonderful times I had in college. Here’s to the future! Keep in touch! See you at Bratfest! Your friend and brother,

Tom Zahalka
