Read and Learn

Kappa Delta Pi, (KDP) an International Honor Society in Education, is dedicated to scholarship and excellence in education. The Society was founded in 1911 and has a long history of openness to both genders, different races, ethnic backgrounds, handicapping conditions, ages, and a wide variety of intellectual ideas. Iota Rho Chapter #233 was installed by a team from the Society Headquarters on May 10th 1962 on the UW-Platteville campus.

KDP as a community of scholars is committed to the following worthy ideals:

  • Fidelity to Humanity, Science, Service, and Toil
  • Recognizes scholarship and excellence in education;
  • Promotes the development and dissemination of worthy educational ideas and practices;
  • Enhances the continuous growth and leadership of its diverse membership;
  • Fosters inquiry and reflection on significant educational issues; and
  • Maintains a high degree of professional fellowship.
We devote our lives to teach, that our words inspire a will to learn; to serve, that each day may enhance the growth of exploring minds; to live that we may guide young and old to know the truth and love the right.
