Guidelines to Qualify for State Career Development
Events
In order to qualify to advance on to the state events, a team must rank
in the top portion of the teams competing at the area event according to
the criteria listed below. The percentages qualified at area contests are
based on the number of full 3 or 4 person teams indicating that they are
attempting to qualify at an area contest.

Agricultural Mechanics: The top 30 percent or the top 3 teams,
whichever is greater

Dairy Cattle: the top 40 percent of teams competing

Floriculture: The top 25 percent or the top 4 teams, whichever
is greater

Horses: The top 30 percent or the top 10 teams, whichever is
greater

Livestock: The top 35 percent or the top 7 teams, whichever is
greater

Wildlife: The top 30 percent or the top 6 teams, whichever is
greater
