UW-Platteville offers three ways to connect wirelessly:
Students, Faculty and Staff can experience the performance and security of a wired network on their wireless devices with the UWPlatt wireless network.
Connecting to UWPlatt will require your UW-Platteville NetID and may require accepting a security certificate. For more information, see these tutorials:
UW-Platteville is a part of the eduroam network. Eduroam allows students, faculty, and staff from participating institutions to obtain Internet connectivity by connecting to the eduroam network and logging in with their email address (You@YourInstitution.edu) and password.
With the UWGuest network, visitors can connect without a password. For each acceptance of the terms and conditions of the UWGuest wireless network, a device is allowed 12 hours of public wireless internet access. Whether it is a perspective student visiting campus for a day or a guest lecturer teaching for a week, connecting to wifi on the UW-Platteville campus is as easy as selecting UWGuest from the list of wireless networks detected by their device, opening a web browser, and clicking "I agree" to get connected.
Note that UWGuest is limited in speed and the types of protocols available.
