*To ensure data securiity for students, faculty and staff at UW-Platteville, users must access their storage through a secure protocol. For file transfer we offer Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP). *
All of the network storage volumes available to users can be accessed via the SFTP protocol by using an SFTP client (Examples: WinSCP for Windows / Cyberduck for Mac / FileZilla for multiple OS's). Below are basic instructions that apply to most SFTP clients.
To change directories to another volume, enter the UNC (Uniform Naming Convention) path of the location you wish to change to.
Examples of UNC paths to storage volumes include:
\\App1_svr\App1
\\Shared1_svr\Shared1
\\Neo\Web1
