*In an attempt to provide heightened security to students, faculty and staff here on the UW-Platteville campus, users will be asked to access their Netware storage through Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP). *
All of the network storage volumes hosted by NetWare systems can be accessed via the SFTP protocol by using an SFTP client. Below are basic instructions that apply to most SFTP clients.
- Using an SFTP client, login to sftp.nw.uwplatt.edu
- When prompted for a User ID or username, enter your UW-Platteville NetID.
- When prompted for a password, enter your NetID password.
- When you first connect, your default directory will be your user directory. Use standard FTP commands to change directories on the current volume.
To change directories to another NetWare volume, enter the UNC path of the location you wish to change to.
Examples of UNC paths to NetWare volumes include:
\\App1_svr\App1
\\Shared1_svr\Shared1
\\Web1_svr\Web1
