University-owned computers running a Level 1 or Level 2 operating system must be properly configured to be connected to the campus network. This also requires that a minimal set of software is installed on the workstation.
Windows 7 Professional/Enterprise
- Windows 7 Service Pack (Minimum: Service Pack 1, Recommended: Service Pack 1)
- Run Windows Update and install all critical updates. (Automatic Updates must be set to ON)
- Novell iPrint Client for Windows (Minimum: 5.78)
- ZENworks Adaptive Agent (Minimum: 11.2.x, Recommended: 11.2.x)
- Symantec Endpoint Protection (Minimum: 12.1, Recommended: 12.1)
- Microsoft File and Print Sharing must be removed.
- IPV6 must be disabled for all network adapters.
Windows XP Professional
- Windows XP Service Pack (Minimum: Service Pack 3, Recommended: Service Pack 3)
- Run Windows/Microsoft Update and install all critical updates. (Automatic Updates must be set to ON)
- Novell Client for Windows (Minimum: 4.91 SP5, Recommended: 4.91 SP5)
- Novell iPrint Client for Windows (Minimum: 5.78)
- ZENworks Management Agent (Minimum: 7.0 SP1, Recommended: 7.0 SP1)
- Symantec Endpoint Protection (Minimum: 11.0.6200, Recommended: 12.1)
- Microsoft File and Print Sharing must be removed.
Mac OS X 10.6/10.7
- Run Software Update and install all critical updates. (Check for updates automatically must be Enabled)
- All File Sharing services must be set to OFF.
- Novell iPrint Client for Macintosh (Minimum: 5.04)
- Symantec Endpoint Protection for Macintosh (Minimum: 11.0.6000, Recommended: 12.1)
