With IE for Mac OS, users are able to connect to my account after I logout.
Internet Explorer for Mac OS has a bug in which it caches your security credentials in memory when it shouldn't. This allows a subsequent user of the web browser to merely use the Back button or History to connect to your e-mail account and view the subject lines of messages in your INBOX without re-authenticating. They will NOT be able to read any of your e-mail, switch to another mailbox, or perform any other harmful action however.
To prevent this, quit Internet Explorer for Mac OS after logging out of your e-mail account. This bug is unique to IE on Mac OS and does not apply to any other web browsers.
Since Microsoft stopped supporting Internet Explorer on the Macintosh platform on 12/31/2005, OIT recommends that you use another browser such as Safari or Firefox.
