Can I control how often the Mail Sync process synchronizes e-mail from my other e-mail accounts?
No. The Mail Sync feature runs every 3 hours. It is currently not possible for individuals to adjust the time or frequency of this process. This setting was put in place by the product developers to maintain high performance by preventing frequent connections to off-site e-mail systems.
Mail Sync is a "pull" mechanism in that it connects to the remote system and "pulls" the e-mail to this location. A more effective and immediate method that you may have more control over is a "push" method such as instructing your remote account to forward messages to your UW-Platteville e-mail account.
