Messages in one of my mailboxes show up multiple times or the subjects are corrupted.
Every mailbox has an index associated with it. Under certain circumtances the index may have become corrupted and is not showing the true contents of the mailbox. In other instances a badly formed message may have been placed into your mailbox that is causing indexing problems.
If your e-mail client has a feature to rebuild the mailbox index, you should try to use that feature first. Otherwise you will need to request through the Help Desk or Distributed IT Support staff to have your old index(es) deleted. You must not be using the e-mail system at the time this operation takes place. Your indexes will automatically be recreated when you access the mailbox.
If you still experience problems, you will need to isolate the problem message. If the problem mailbox is your INBOX, request that a new INBOX be created so the problem does not affect delivery of new messages. Your old INBOX will be renamed and a new INBOX will automatically be created.
