How do I use a department account in the NetMail system?
Currently, there are a small group of department e-mail accounts at UW-Platteville that exist in the UWP NetMail system. The Office of Information Technology would like to keep this list as small as possible. Those accounts that do exist work the same as any individual e-mail account. E-mail can be accessed by using the UWP NetMail web client, or a desktop e-mail client.
There are also a number of department accounts that are setup to forward to an individual who is responsible for receiving and replying to messages sent to these addresses. An example of this may be an e-mail address of department1@uwplatt.edu forwards to facultyusername@uwplatt.edu. For these accounts, the Request to change e-mail forwarding form can be used to change where e-mail sent to a department e-mail account is forwarded to:
