Closing your e-mail client during the system maintenance window

If you are using an IMAP e-mail client, we recommend that you exit your e-mail program before the start time of the regularly scheduled system maintenance window (Friday 4:15 pm - 5:15 pm). There is not a guaranteed outage at this time, however one should be assumed. The campus is not notified if an outage occurs or doesn't occur during this window.

In rare conditions, some IMAP clients have problems when the IMAP server is not reachable. These problems can manifest themselves as corrupt mailboxes once the IMAP server becomes available again.
