Wright Center Sponsored Computer Check Out

The Wright center has purchased two computers, with card readers and we have teamed with Information Technology Services to make them awailable at the Help Desk (first floor Karrmann Library) for a week-long check out with a valid student ID. We also have computers available at 322 Royce, with card readers, for daily use druing office hours.

Post Cards to Deployed Soldiers

Have you ever thought about sending a letter to our deployed soldiers? Well now is your chance.

Come to The Wright Center for Veterans and Non-Traditional Students (Royce Hall 322) and grab some post cards.
We will mail them for you!

Non-Traditional Student Scholarships

The Wright Center has obtained five $1,000 scholarships designed for Non-Traditional students only. Visit the UW-Platteville Financial Aid webpage for more information,

Wisconsin Veteran Scholarships

The Weber and Overholt scholarships are offered for the 2015-16 academic year. The application deadline is May 1, 2015. Download the applications below.

Military Artifact Display

The Wright Center in collaboration with the Rollo Jamison Museum will be showcasing historical artifacts from various military eras.

Wright Center Resource Day

Non-traditional and veteran students can stop by the Wright Center to meet Dave Hosking (Vet Center Outreach Specialist), Brian Bird (Cashier's Office), and Tim Murphy (County Veteran Officer) and learn more about UW-Platteville scholarships for non-traditional students. Snacks provided.

Curt Patrouille - United We Stand
February 21, 2016 | 7 p.m. | Velzy Commons, Ullsvik Hall

UW-Platteville alumni Curt Patrouille will share his story of how to keep a positive outlook on life despite the obstacles that are thrown in your path. Curt will touch on his personal experiences of surviving being badly burned, 27+ years of military service, losing his mother at age 20, and multiple deployments while being married and having young children. Curt will share with you his story of resilience and bouncing back from adversity.

Life Experiences on your Résumé
March 8 | 11 a.m.–noon and 4–5 p.m. (choose one) | 318 Royce Hall

The Wright Center along with the Academic and Career Advising Center is offering this session. Come with your résumé in hand for review or come and learn to create one. Non-traditional students have tons of life experience. Learn how to incorporate that into your résumé and showcase your diverse self.

Camping 101
April 9 | 10 a.m.-3 p.m. | Governor Dodge State Park

The Wright Center is partnering with Outdoor Recreation to host a fun, family friendly workshop on the basics of camping. Putting up a tent, fire starting, and Dutch oven cooking will be a few of the skills you will learn. Park fees not included.

Graduation Celebration

Let us help celebrate your success! Come when you can, leave when you must. Informal celebration for our non-taditional and veteran graduates. Feel free to bring a guest. Great refreshments and gifts for our graduates.

Finals Week
May 9–13 | 8 a.m.–4 p.m. | 322 Royce Hall

Let us make your finals week a little easier. Come hang out to study or use our computers in a quiet work space. Snacks, coffee, and study resources provided.
