The entire amount of concert-only tickets may be deducted as a charitable contribution. For those purchasing the dinner/concert package, the charitable deduction is $7 per adult and $4 per child.
Musical groups from the Platteville community and UWP will entertain during the banquet and will be featured at the concert. Groups that will be featured at either the banquet or the gala concert include: University/Community Orchestra, Jazz Combo, University Singers, Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Singing Pioneers, Vocal Jazz, Coro D' Angeli, Platteville Chorale, Woodwind and Brass Ensemble and the Platteville Children's Choir.
New this year is an instrumental ensemble that will perform holiday favorites, with a twist. UWP Fine Arts chair Dan Fairchild said this year's event will include "a couple of surprises musically. There will be additionally madrigal and barbershop music."
The UWP Fine Arts Department initiated the Holiday Gala in 1996, bringing beauty and joy through music and food. The event generates funding for music scholarships.
The competitive scholarships awarded from this fund are used to attract and retain the best and brightest musicians, contributing to the overall excellence of UWP's music program.
