UW System Board of Regents members visit campus
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville hosted UW System Board of Regents members Janice Mueller and Charles Pruitt on Feb. 11. The regents were welcomed to campus by Chancellor Dennis J. Shields before meeting with the chancellor’s senior administrative team.
The discussion centered on capital projects, financial modeling, business intelligence and Higher Learning Commission accreditation. “Today was a tremendous opportunity for the regents to get an up close look at the university and to solicit feedback from faculty, staff, administration and students,” said Chancellor Shields.
The regents also attended an open discussion about shared governance with faculty, academic staff and classified governance.
The regents’ day also included lunch at Bridgeway Commons with Joe Sigwarth, Student Senate president; Chad Landes, student representative on the Board of Regents, as well as Chancellor’s Scholars.
Prior to departing, the regents toured Rountree Commons.
Mueller and Pruitt are the designated liaisons for UW-Platteville on the Board of Regents and they will be making return visits.
