Pioneer Players

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Theatre and Pioneer Players are holding auditions for the fall 2013 season. Auditions for Henrik Ibsen's “Ghosts” and Larry Kramer's “The Normal Heart” will take place in the Center for the Arts Theatre on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 9-10 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Callbacks, if necessary, will be Wednesday, Sept. 11.

“Ghosts” runs Oct. 23-27, and “The Normal Heart” plays Nov. 20-24. Rehearsals are Sundays through Thursdays from 6:30-9:30 p.m., and all cast members are expected to be available for all rehearsals two weeks prior to opening.

Students may sign up for an audition time on the board outside of the Performing and Visual Arts office, located at 180 Doudna Hall.

Copies of the plays are on reserve under fall auditions at the circulation desk in the Karrmann Library.

Auditions will consist of a 90-second dramatic monologue. Theatre majors, minors and previous performers should have a memorized monologue prepared. Monologues will be available on the board for new and returning students.

For more information or if anyone has questions about auditions, contact Dr. Ann Farrelly at farrellya@uwplatt.edu or Dr. David Schuler at schulerd@uwplatt.edu. Contact Jeffrey or Sarah Strange at strangej@uwplatt.edu or woodworthsa@uwplatt.edu for information about getting involved backstage or with any of the technical elements of theatre.

Pioneer Players will be having a welcome meeting and picnic before the auditions on Sept. 9, beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the CFA Theatre. Help with set building, lights, costumes, stage management and run crew is welcome and encouraged.
