UW-Madison Quartet to perform at UWP
PLATTEVILLE- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Fine Arts Department will be hosting the UW-Madison Pro Arte Quartet Concert at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, at the UW-Platteville Center for the Arts.
The Pro Arte Quartet began in 1912 and was the first quartet-in-residence at a major American university. The group performs from a standard classical collection as well as championship new music. The ensemble travels state-wide as well as in the U.S. and abroad. It includes David Perry and Suzanne Beia, violin; Sally Chisholm, viola and Parry Karp, cello. The concert will include the works of Hayden, Zemlinsky and Mozart.
General public admission for the performance is $15, $7 for UWP faculty and staff and admission is free to all UWP students.
