Student research and community collaboration to be on display
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — For the first time, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Pioneer Academic Center for Community Engagement’s Engagement Poster Day will be held in conjunction with the Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavors Symposium. The events will take place on Wednesday, April 23 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in Ullsvik Hall.
More than 100 posters will be on display at the Poster Day event, highlighting projects between students and 84 community partners. Each project provided high-impact practices and hands-on learning opportunities.
Students who completed a PACCE project in the Winterim or spring semester will share their experience via a poster, video, photos or live presentation. UW-Platteville faculty and staff as well as community members and partners are welcome to attend the event.
The URCE Symposium will provide an opportunity for undergraduate students to showcase their research. The event will include selected student talks, a poster session, performances and demonstrations.
Approximately 130 students representing 51 separate projects will be presenting at the URCE Symposium. All three colleges will be represented. Projects include traditional poster displays, fine artwork, panel discussions and oral presentations. The event will be held in Ullsvik Hall in Velzy Commons, Nohr Gallery, Southwest Wisconsin Room and the Presentation Room in the Prospective Student Services office.
