PLATTEVILLE-A reception and dinner for University of Wisconsin-Platteville multicultural students and their families and guests will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 10, in Velzy Commons, located in the Ullsvik Center.

The annual MCS graduation event is a chance for multicultural graduates, their families and friends to be recognized, said Carlos Wiley, director of UWP's Office of Multicultural Services. "We are pleased to do this and extend a hearty welcome," said Wiley.

The UWP Office of Multicultural Services, Asian Students in Action, Black Student Union and the Hmong Club sponsor the event. UWP's MCS works to educate the University community on ethnic issues and diversity, providing cultural programming, outreach and retention services.

MCS also provides support to African American, Asian American, Latino and Native American students, advisers and student organizations. Those researching ethnic issues can also receive assistance from MCS.

For further information about the multicultural graduation reception, please call UWP Multicultural Services, 608-342-1115.
