Snow welcomed for Feb Follies 2003 at UWP
PLATTEVILLE - Celebrating the diversity of our winter wonderland, Feb Follies 2003 welcomes snow in preparation for its upcoming events. This annual event, which will run from Feb. 20-27, is sponsored by UW-Platteville's Campus Programming and Relations.
The official kickoff begins on Thursday, Feb. 20, with comedian Shang performing at 8 p.m. in the Pioneer Crossing. A scavenger hunt will be held starting at noon Friday, Feb. 21 with a 24-hour deadline. The snow sculpture competition is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, with judging at 4 p.m. on the north lawn. Sled races will be held on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m. on the sledding hill in Memorial Park. This will be a double elimination contest.
Capture the flag will he held from 4-6 p.m. at prairie land, past the bridge, on Monday, Feb. 24. Be rewarded for all you involvement at the awards night Tuesday, Feb. 25, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Beaux Arts Room of the Ullsvik Center. Celebrate the rest of the night at a Mardi Gras dance with local entertainers We're Late and Smell Like Beer.
Acoustic Wednesday at the Pioneer Haus begins at 8 p.m. on Feb. 26, with the culmination of events - the Fasching Carnaval - Thursday, Feb. 27 from 5:30-10 p.m. at the Ullsvik Center.
