Reynolds receives certificate of merit for outstanding advising administrator
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — Helen Reynolds, University of Wisconsin-Platteville coordinator of Advising and Career Exploration Services, was selected as an outstanding advising administrator certificate of merit recipient from the National Academic Advising Association. The award is part of the 2013 NACADA national awards program for academic advising designed to honor individuals and institutions making significant contributions to the improvement of academic advising.
“It’s an honor and a privilege just to have been nominated,” said Reynolds. “This award is acknowledgment that advising is an important part of what goes on at a university campus as well as personal acknowledgment of the work that I do.”
Reynolds is also the co-coordinator for New Student Registration, coordinator for the Testing Center and chair of the University Academic Advising Team.
“I love working one-on-one with the students,” said Reynolds. “Understanding and appreciating the challenges a student faces is at the heart of good advising and I feel it forms the basis for retaining all of our students to graduation.”
