PLATTEVILLE- A slice of Civil War history will come alive when the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Office of Continuing Education, in partnership with UW-Extension, will present a luncheon discussion on quilts and the underground railroad.

The event, part of the UWP Connections series, is set for 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, in the Park Inn Convention Center, Platteville.

Quilts were used to help slaves find safe houses and freedom via the underground railroad during the Civil War. Presenter will be Katie Vaclavik

Cost is $10 for each Connections series event, which provides opportunities to develop and refine personal and professional skills and network with colleagues and friends.

For further information and to register for the luncheon, please call 608-342-1314, or toll-free, 1-888-281-9472.
