Prep U prepares students for post-graduation success
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Alumni Association and the Career Center have partnered to offer students a series of informational sessions designed to promote professionalism and obtain successful employment post-graduation.
Prep U is a five-part series that covers interviewing techniques, LinkedIn social networking, business dinner etiquette, personal budgeting and transitioning to a bigger city.
“Tick Talk,” the first session of the series, is a speed networking session on Sep. 17 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Harry and Laura Nohr Gallery in Ullsvik Hall. Students will have an opportunity to complete mock interviews and network with alumni and industry professionals. Alumnus Doug Wetzel, senior division vice president of Cortech International LLC, will give a brief presentation on branding.
“Tick Talk is a great opportunity for students to learn important networking techniques and interview skills prior to the campus Career Fair,” said Katie Friar, events coordinator for Alumni Services. The Career Fair will be held Sep. 24-26th in Velzy Commons, Ullsvik Hall.
