University of Wisconsin-Platteville students in Society of Automotive Engineers recently participated in the 2014 SAE Clean Snowmobile challenge that took place at Michigan Tech. The team won the International Engineering and Manufacturing (Woody’s) Award for Best Acceleration, achieving speeds of 73 mph; and the HB Performance Systems Award, for its implementation of the HB Trail Trac system. For the past month and a half, the international news eye has been trained on Venezuela and the protests that have rocked the country as pictures of armed soldiers and smoky streets were shared with the rest of the world. Recently, the men of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville held a vigil to spread awareness of the events in Venezuela as well as to give support to the Venezuelan students who attend UW-Platteville.
