Nine UWP seniors to be honored at basketball game
PLATTEVILLE - The UW-Platteville men's basketball team will be honoring seven senior players and two senior managers prior to the UW-River Falls game Feb. 22, at 7 p.m.
The seven players are of Mario Boyd, Will Carter, Tim Cummins, Jeremy Harrison, Krayton Nash, Tyler Selk and Bryan Stangel. They are each fifth-year seniors graduating in either May or December 2003 who red-shirted their first year under head coach Bo Ryan and have played in the program the last four years under head coach Todd Landrum.
Graduating in May, senior manager Katie Vaassen has been with the team for four years since she was a freshman. Jamie Udelhofen has been managing the team for the last three years and will be graduating this December.
The nine seniors will be announced in place of the starting line-up on Feb. 22. High school coaches, parents and other significant people of the nine seniors have all been invited to attend the event.
"They are terrific young people who deserve recognition," Landrum said.
