Jazz Festival Big Band to perform
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Center for the Arts will present Jazz Festival Big Band on Friday, Feb. 7 in the Richard and Helen Brodbeck Concert Hall at 7 p.m.
The Jazz Festival Big Band is a jazz band of UW-Platteville students, faculty, alumni and friends. This year’s special guest is jazz singer Bryan Anthony.
With his master’s in jazz and studio music from New York University, Anthony has toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Nelson Riddle Orchestra and more.
Anthony released his first album, “Look at Me Now,” in 2000. It was a session he expanded and then re-released in 2006 as “Songs for Dreamers.” That same year, Anthony joined the cast of Broadway’s “Our Sinatra,” celebrating the music of the legendary Frank Sinatra.
Jazzpage.com states, “Bryan is one of the really great young crooners to come along in quite some time…”
Tickets for this event are $12 for general admission, $8 for children under 18 and senior citizens 62 and older and $6 for UW-Platteville students with current ID.
