PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Nine students who distinguished themselves in their juried performance examinations last spring will be featured during the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Honors Recital on Monday, Oct. 8. The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Richard and Helen Brodbeck Concert Hall in the Center for the Arts.
Students performers include Madison Anderson of Wind Lake, Wis., on piano; Callan Backstrom of Mineral Point, Wis., on clarinet; Abigail Colby of Arena, Wis., on xylophone; Sarah Day of Waukesha, Wis., on trombone; Katie Haberlie of Lancaster, Wis., as mezzo-soprano; Zachary Masa-Myers of Freeport, Ill., on trumpet; Stephanie Orgas of East Troy, Wis., as mezzo-soprano; Hallie Rogers of Dubuque, Iowa, on cello; and Sarah Scott of Denmark, Wis., on oboe.
“This event gives a chance for the campus, community and families of the performers to enjoy a fine concert by some of our most talented music students,” said Allen Cordingley, UW-Platteville music lecturer who is organizing the event. “As a community member, I enjoy the fact that there are many different instruments and musical genres covered.”
