PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – Tickets are now on sale for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Holiday Gala, which is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Richard and Helen Brodbeck Concert Hall. The annual event, which has been a winter season favorite for 17 years now, features performances by the Chamber Players Ensembles, Platteville Children’s Choir, Platteville Chorale, University Combined Choirs and University Symphony Orchestra. Proceeds from the event benefit music scholarships at UW-Platteville.

This year’s theme is “Celebrate the Holidays.”

“Designed to rekindle fond memories, touch people’s souls and make everyone smile, the concert will help you start your holiday season with a magical musical experience,” said Dr. Thomas Taylor Dickey, UW-Platteville music instructor and USO conductor who is arranging the event.

Dickey added that the event includes a reception, which is affectionately being referred to as “Coda,” the Italian word for tail, to signify the conclusion of the evening.

“Holiday beverages and treats will provide the opportunity for students, parents and audience members alike to mix with the faculty and all of our gifted musicians,” he said.

Tickets, which are $10 for adults and $5 for students, are available through the University Box Office on the ground floor of Ullsvik Hall or at (608) 342-1298 or tickets.uwplatt.edu.

For more information, contact Dickey at (608) 342-1143 or dickeyth@uwplatt.edu.
