The Golden Dragon Acrobats to present Cirque Ziva at Center for the Arts
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. —The Center for the Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville will host Cirque Ziva on Sunday, Feb. 10. The show will begin at 7:30 in the Brodbeck Concert Hall.
The Golden Dragon Acrobats hail from Cangzhou, Hebei province in the People’s Republic of China and have continuously toured the United States since 1978. Its 25 members are athletes, actors and artists who have studied and trained for their craft since early childhood.
The Golden Dragon Acrobat troupe had its Broadway debut at the New Victory Theater in 2005 and was nominated for two Drama Desk Awards for its performance. The group’s founder, producer and director, Danny Chang, is one of the world’s leading promoters of Chinese acrobatics.
The Golden Dragon Acrobats will amaze its audience with acrobatic feats as performers use their bodies and simple props including everyday objects such as plates, jugs, bicycles, umbrellas and more.
Tickets for the event are $34 for general admission, $26 for faculty and senior citizens, $20 for children under 18 and $17 for UW-Platteville students with a current student ID.
