Dolfin performs with Kids from Wisconsin
The Kids From Wisconsin – the state’s musical ambassadors of goodwill – is in the midst of its 46th show season. Kevin Dolfin, a University of Wisconsin-Platteville junior, is performing with the troupe this summer.
Dolfin grew up in Hingham, Wis., and graduated from Oostburg High School in 2012. He will be a junior at UW-Platteville where he majors in instrumental music education. Dolfin was a member of the High School Conference Honors Band, UW-Milwaukee Honors Band, State Solo/Ensemble, UW-Platteville trumpet section leader for the Marching Pioneers, Jazz I, Wind Ensemble and miscellaneous ensembles. He received the Lyle and Ruth Olsen Music Scholarship.
After auditioning in February, Dolfin was chosen to be part of the Kids troupe over hundreds of other applicants. In June, all the Kids went through a 17-day camp where they learned all the music and choreography. They have been on tour since June 24 and will perform more than 60 shows across the state this summer.
