Five By Design to perform at Center for the Arts
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Center for the Arts will present Five By Design on Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. in the Brodbeck Concert Hall.
Set in the format of a faux radio broadcast from a tiki room somewhere in the South Pacific, “The Ultra Lounge Show” travels to exotic locales.
The music of “The Ultra Lounge Show” focuses on the kings and queens of cool, the artists that defined the atomic era, such as Bobby Darin, Rosemary Clooney, Wayne Newton, Louis Prima and Keely Smith, and the songs they made famous in new arrangements.
“Mack the Knife,” “Mambo Italiano,” “Danke Schoen,” and “Just One of Those Things” are but a few of the hits the audience will enjoy as Five By Design takes swing to the next level for the ultra-hip and the ultra-cool.
“Five By Design is a group of talented, creative and fun musicians,” said Keith Lockhart and Dennis Alves, of the Boston Pops.
Tickets are $25 for general admission, $20 for children under 18 and senior citizens 62 and older, and $13 for UW-Platteville students with current ID.
Tickets are available through the University Box Office, located in the lower level of Ullsvik Hall. Phone orders may be made by calling (608) 342-1298 or toll free at (877) 727-1CFA. Tickets are also available online at tickets.uwplatt.edu.
