Business & accounting donors recognized
PLATTEVILLE - One hundred dollars here and $50 there may not seem like a lot of money to some people, but to a college student struggling to make ends meet, that extra bit of money can make a world of difference. The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Department of Business and Accounting recognized several donors recently by hosting a luncheon at the Platteville Golf and Country Club.
Representatives from TRICOR, Lands' End, Mound City Bank, and the accounting firms McGladrey and Pullen, Vaassen and Pluemer, and Smith and Gesteland attended the luncheon. These businesses support the TRICOR Endowed Scholarship, the Accounting Faculty Endowed Scholarship and the Business and Accounting New Freshman Scholarship.
The luncheon provided an opportunity for donors to meet with scholarship recipients Trisha George of Dickeyville, Tabitha Schmitz of Lancaster, Ashley Leibold of Dubuque and Michelle Hardyman, Katie Vaassen and Laurie Meis, all of Platteville.
