Bollerud gives to UW-Platteville Community Scholarship Program for Pecatonica High School

PLATTEVILLE-The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Community Scholarship Program gives individuals the opportunity to support graduating high school seniors attending UWP with their gift to this program. By donating to a community high school of their choice, donors allow the UWP Foundation to grant scholarships to graduating high school seniors that are accepted to UWP from high schools that are participating in this program.

Kenneth Bollerud, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., is pioneering the path for graduating seniors with his recent gift to the UW-Platteville Community Scholarship Program for Pecatonica High School. The UWP Foundation will use this gift to provide scholarships to graduates of Pecatonica High School who enroll at UWP.

Bollerud donates in memory of his mother, aunt and friend who were all UWP graduates and his father who was an inspiration.

As to why he chose to support this program, he stated, "I thought I received an excellent education at Platteville."

Bollerud graduated from UWP in 1963 as a chemistry major and a math minor. He taught chemistry and biology at Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, N.Y., from 1967 until his retirement in 2004. He currently resides in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., with his wife Natalie.
