UWP professor of education to share lecture on Cameroon
PLATTEVILLE- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will host the third in a series of lectures meant to entertain and educate the campus and community about the different countries and cultures of UWP's faculty and staff. UWP professor of education, John Nkemnji, will give a presention on his home country of Cameroon. The lecture will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, in the University South Room of the Pioneer Student Center at 7 p.m.
The slideshow discussion will focus on daily activities that occupy the life of the typical Cameroon student. The Cameroon educational system from kindergarten through university studies will be discussed and linked to the cultural, social, economic and political life of the nation. There will be time for questions and answers after the discussion.
The Equality and Diversity Committee of the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture; International Student Services office; Center for Plastics Processing Technology; International Student Club and Asian Students in Action Club are sponsoring the series of lectures to offer this opportunity to the UWP campus and interested community members. The lectures will be offered once a month and will last approximately one to one and a half hours.Nkemnji is part of the 11 percent of UWP faculty and staff that make up its foreign-born population. The sponsoring organizations are inviting the faculty, staff and campus community members to participate in and support these events.
