UWP Associate professor of agricultural business, Avuthu Rami Reddy, will present on his home country of India. The lecture will be held Tuesday, Oct. 13, in the University South Room of the Pioneer Student Center at 7 p.m.

The presentation will focus on contemporary society in India, examining its current social structures, institutions and the life of an average Indian family.

"I will talk about culture, religion, politics and several social institutions and issues," said Reddy. "I will also go into the relevant history of India while discussing current issues to provide perspective."

The Equality and Diversity Committee of the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture; International Student Services office; Center for Plastics Processing Technology; International Student Club and Asian Students in Action Club are sponsoring the series of lectures to offer this opportunity to the UWP campus and interested community members. The lectures will be offered once a month and will last approximately one to one and a half hours.

Reddy is part of the 11 percent of UWP faculty and staff that make up its foreign-born population. The sponsoring organizations are inviting the faculty, staff and campus community members to participate in and support these events.
