Recruitment for UWP chancellor is underway
PLATTEVILLE- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville's search for a new chancellor is underway and on track, according to Dr. Joanne Wilson, the search and screen committee chair. The committee will help identify a successor to UWP's Emeritus Chancellor David Markee, and the official advertisement for the position will begin on Monday, Oct. 26.
The committee, chaired by Wilson, consists of 10 faculty members, two academic staff members, one classified staff member, two student representatives, a UW System representative, one campus assistant chancellor and two community representatives.
The committee has posted an application deadline on the chancellor search website and urges all those interested to submit application materials by then to ensure full consideration.
"We are very excited to begin the next step in the process," said Wilson. "We've been working hard in the last months to ensure we know what the campus and community are looking for, so that we can do the best job possible." Wilson also said that for those interested, summaries of the open forums about the search for a new chancellor can be found online as well.
By Jan. 22, 2010, the committee hopes to have the pool of 10-12 candidates for off-site interviews, and President Kevin Reilly will announce the finalists around Feb. 18.
