UWP invites public to celebrate local foods
PLATTEVILLE- The Platteville and University of Wisconsin-Platteville community are invited to the Local Fare Spring Marketplace on Sunday, April 19 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Ullsvik Hall on the UWP campus. Admission is free.
Participants will meet people from greenhouses, markets, dairies, fruit farms, bakeries and regional farms and learn where local products are available for purchase. Displays will feature local music, cooking with fresh produce, books about Wisconsin foods and directories. Samples of local products, including ice cream, summer sausage, fudge, pesto and cheese, will also be available for participants to enjoy.
Vendors include Angelica's Garden Company, Blue Marble Dairy, Bures Berry Patch, Coulee View Family Farm, Driftless Area Land Conservancy, Driftless Market, Folklore Village, Hickory Acres Farm, Itchy Cat Press, Keewaydin Organics, Kings Hill Farm, Marr Valley View Farms, Middlebury Hills, Oak-Del Dairy and Beef Farm, Ruegsegger Farms and Two Onion Farm.
Local Fare is a program of the UWP Office of Continuing Education. It is dedicated to a regional vision for increasing access to local foods in Southwest Wisconsin.
