UWP offers one-stop shop for graduating seniors on March 11
PLATTEVILLE - With graduation quickly approaching, University of Wisconsin-Platteville seniors are invited to attend Countdown to Commencement. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 11 from 2:30 to 6 p.m. in Velzy Commons of Ullsvik Hall, located on the UWP campus. Countdown to Commencement is a one-stop shop for seniors to order their cap and gown, select announcements, speak with representatives and pay the necessary fees.
Caps and gowns will be available to order and purchase from the University Book Store. Jostens will be selling graduation announcements and engineering students may place their order for the Order of Engineers ring.
Students who attend will be able to meet with all the departments and businesses they need in order to prepare for graduation. Tickets for graduation brunch may be purchased at the countdown as well.
A drawing will be held for a UWP college ring, a cap and gown and five one-year memberships to the Alumni Association. The Alumni Association will also be offering discounted memberships at $10 for the first year and $30 for three years. Regular price for membership is $25 for the first year and $65 for three years. Membership includes an official alumni T-shirt. In addition, the Alumni Association will be placing orders for four-color commemorative graduation plaques.
Materials regarding Countdown to Commencement were mailed to all students and their parents who filled out an intent to graduate form. Students are encouraged to fill out the materials prior to Countdown to Commencement.
