UW-Extension and UWP host Green Collar Jobs: Sustainable Work in a Low Carbon World webinar
PLATTEVILLE - A Green Collar Jobs: Sustainable Work in a Low Carbon World webinar will be held in the Computer Conference Room of the Pioneer Student Center on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville campus on Tuesday, March 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This free event is sponsored by UWP and UW-Extension and is open to the public.
"In today's economic climate, we should all be thinking about where our future jobs will come from and what education and skill-sets will be required for that workforce," said Peggy Compton, UW-Extension basin educator. "This webinar will be a great start to answering those questions."
She is working with Mike Compton, director of the UWP School of Agriculture, and Tim Zauche, UWP associate professor of inorganic chemistry.
The impact of green collar jobs on business and community development will be explored. Environmental concerns, efficiency considerations and workforce development topics will be discussed as well.
This webinar is the fifth in the Focus on Sustainability series. At each session, participants interact with presenters and other participants throughout Wisconsin. Pre-registration for each webinar is requested, but not required. For more information, contact Peggy Compton at (608) 342-1633 or peggy.compton@ces.uwex.edu.
