UWP's Pioneer Farm to host dairy goat workshop
PLATTEVILLE- All dairy goat producers are invited to learn more about various aspects of production at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville's dairy goat workshop. The event will be held at Pioneer Farm from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 and Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009.
The first session on Monday will focus on equipment and facilities. Participants will discuss and see examples of milking equipment, buildings and milking stands, nutrient management and ways to fund projects.
On Tuesday, participants will learn about animal health. They will discuss udder management, somatic cells counts, nutrition and overall goat health.
Registration begins at 9:15 a.m. each day. Cost is $30 per day with lunch included. Pre-registration is requested, but not required.
