UWP to host program on renewable energy
PLATTEVILLLE - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville will host the Focus on Sustainability group on Tuesday, Dec. 16 as they present a program on renewable energy. The program is part of the Building Communities webinar educational series.
All of the programs in the series use webinar technology. Webinar technology uses the Internet to receive the presentation while hearing the presenter through the speaker on a phone.
"The presentation is live and interactive so even though the presenter may be in some other part of Wisconsin or even a different country, we hear them live and can ask questions and interact with the presenter and the other webinar participants," said Peggy Compton of the UW-Extension.
This webinar will examine the renewable energy technologies available and how to choose the best options for a community. The presenters will focus on ideas relating to affordability, area service providers and the renewable installations that are currently operating.
"Renewable energy will play an important role in any community's sustainability plan," Compton said. "I encourage everyone to come out and learn more about this important and timely topic."
The event is free and everyone is invited to attend. It will take place in the Computer Conference Room of the Pioneer Student Center on the UWP campus beginning at 11:30 a.m. For more information, contact Compton at (608) 342-1633 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
