PLATTEVILLE - Chad Griepentrog, a 1993 alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, will receive the UWP Outstanding Alumni award during a recognition luncheon on commencement day, Saturday, Dec. 13. The award recognizes UWP alumni who have gained excellent professional accomplishment since their graduation in the last 15 years.

Griepentrog is the vice president of RB Publishing Inc. in Madison, a leader in business trade magazines. Griepentrog's responsibilities include overseeing all areas of the company's finances, assisting in editorial decisions, including editorial layout and design, circulation, production and advertising.

Prior to working for RB Publishing, Griepentrog worked for GE Medical Systems, a provider of computer software and training for the healthcare industry. In 1997, Griepentrog received the President's Award from GE Medical for his part in helping sales staff reach their desired revenue goals.

As the founder and publisher of Inside Wisconsin Sports, the only consumer magazine published by RB Publishing, Griepentrog highlights high school, college and professional sports in Wisconsin.

Griepentrog is a member of the Wisconsin Publisher's Production Club, a supporter of Special Olympics, and has spoken numerous times at Rotary Clubs throughout the state.

"I thought it was an honor for someone to nominate me, much less win the award," said Griepentrog. "I'd like to thank the UWP professors for getting me ready for the real world with their classes. With the schooling I received at UWP, I felt I could go anywhere."
