UWP Television Services changes name
PLATTEVILLE - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Television Services has changed their name to Media Technology Services.
"The change was needed as Television Services did not adequately represent the variety of responsibilities the department has," Colleen Garrity, Media Technology Services director, said. "A name change has been discussed for several years, but didn't move forward until this year."
Media Technology Services currently employs five full-time employees, one LTE and 27 students with backgrounds from all majors. Responsibilities of Media Technology Services include design, installation and maintenance of classroom technology; production of the annual Christmas Telethon in support of Wisconsin Badger Camp; video based distance education; video and audio production; and maintaining WSUP broadcast facilities, UWP-TV facilities and campus cable system.
