UW-Platteville Foundation invites alumni to donate online
PLATTEVILLE -The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Foundation has added a unique avenue of giving in August of 2007; they went online. Those wishing to donate must simply go to the UWP homepage, click on Make a Donation and Donate Now. The homepage highlights funds that are the focus of fundraising efforts by the UW-Platteville Foundation. Donors may also select to "write in" a particular fund by selecting from a list of available funds.
"The UW-Platteville Foundation, in partnership with the Alumni Association, is excited to provide another way for our alumni and friends to donate to UWP. The online donation option gives our donors the ability to access this secure site at their convenience," commented Kim Govier, accounts receivable and scholarship coordinator for the UWP Foundation.
Donations from alumni help UWP preserve its heritage of excellence in education, for current students and generations of future students. Donations to the university through the Foundation help provide scholarships, improve academic programs, support capital building projects and enrich campus-life experiences for students.
UW-Platteville has about 40,000 living alumni and approximately 20 percent of alumni provide financial support to the Foundation in the form of annual gifts, major gifts and special project support.
Currently, donors may give online using a credit card, or make a pledge online and mail in their payment at a later date. All contributors receive a receipt acknowledging their donation to the Foundation. In addition, the Foundation's annual report and donor roll list the names of the contributors during a fiscal year.
