PLATTEVILLE - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Advising and Career Exploration Services will be hosting the Pioneering Your Future conference on Feb. 10 from 8:30 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. The focus of this conference is to provide middle and high school girls with hands-on exploration of career fields that emphasize math, science and technology in order to encourage girls to continue study in those areas in high school and college.

Interactive career sessions will be presented by UWP faculty members and student groups allowing the girls to engage in math, science and technology exploration. The career sessions will provide the girls with ideas for careers that involve problem solving and experimentation. The Pioneering Your Future conference expands the knowledge of career opportunities that are available for women upon successful completion of high school and college. Helen Reynolds, coordinator of Advising and Career Exploration Services, states, "The Pioneering Your Future conference broadens and expands the knowledge of different career areas relating to math and science, encouraging middle school and high school girls to continue with those subjects."
