UWP to host 11th annual Holiday Gala

PLATTEVILLE - Every year, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville hosts a festive end-of-the-semester concert, the Holiday Gala, which showcases the talents of many of the performing groups on campus and the Southwest Wisconsin area. It also functions as a means of raising money for the Musical Scholarship Fund, used to assist current and future UWP students.

This year, the concert will be held on Saturday, Dec. 2 and Sunday, Dec. 3, in the Richard and Helen Brodbeck Concert Hall in the Center for the Arts building on campus.

The Gala concert includes a hors d'ouevres reception, held in the theater in the Center for the Arts, which will feature live entertainment in the form of faculty soloists and several musical groups. On Saturday, the reception will be held at 6:30 p.m., just prior to the concert at 8 p.m.; on Sunday, the reception will be held immediately after the 4 p.m. concert.

Performing groups for this year's Gala include the Symphonietta, the University Community Orchestra, the Platteville Chorale, Platteville Children's Choir and five UWP choirs. Faculty soloists will also be performing.

Tickets for the reception and concert may be purchased at the University Box Office, located in the Center for the Arts building on campus. General admission for both concert and reception is $15. Tickets for UWP students and children under the age of 13 are $13. For the concert only, general admission is $11, while tickets for UWP students and children under the age of 13 are $6.
