PLATTEVILLE - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville Alumni Association announced that it has selected five new members to serve on its Board of Directors for the 2006-2009 term and one member who will serve until 2008. Directors serve three-year terms with a maximum of two consecutive terms.

The new members are Kay Helbing of Hazel Green, undergraduate class of 1966 and graduate class of 1968; Lawson "Skip" Clark of Mount Vernon, Iowa, class of 1970; Amy Ruetten of Nevada, Mo., class of 1988; Tricia Kruser Reuter of Platteville, class of 1994; Leon "Grant" Loy of Stitzer, class of 1954; and George Krueger of Platteville, class of 1981. Krueger is replacing resigning board member Julie Wickland, whose term ends in 2008.

Three board members were reelected for a second term: Dale Holmen of Madison, class of 1973; Jon Turnell of Dodge, class of 1978; and Bob Leuth of Rosemount, Minn., class of 1992.

The members of the UWP Alumni Board of Directors work to support the mission of the university and assist with the formation and promotion of constituent alumni chapters and connections. According to Kim Schmelz, alumni coordinator, all of the new board members have expressed a strong commitment to their positions.

"Our board of directors is very dedicated to promoting and supporting UW-Platteville. It's wonderful to work with a group of people who give of their time and energy because of their love for this institution," said Schmelz.
