UWP provides parking for mopeds

PLATTEVILLE - In the past, it was a fairly unusual occurrence to see a moped puttering around town or campus, but with rising gas prices, more people are bringing mopeds to campus as viable alternatives to cars. To accommodate this growing use, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville has provided several parking lots throughout campus with specific designated moped parking spaces.
A permit for moped parking may be obtained at the UWP Police department located at 106 Royce Hall. The permit fee is $25. A campus map detailing the available lots can also be obtained from the UWP Police Department.
Statutes governing moped and motorcycle operation include 346.595 on the rules governing where and how a motorcycle may be operated; 346.08 explaining overtaking and passing other vehicles; and 346.94 which governs bicycle lane and sidewalk driving. More on moped driving tips and regulations may be obtained at the UWP Police Department.
